Travel. Southern Ireland is still part of the EU, and as such travel is still extremely easy and cheap compared to the US. We can still take weekend trips back to Paris for around $30/person for a round trip flight. It is an island, so it's not as centrally located, but still better travel opportunities than we had before moving over here.
Healthcare. Admittedly France's healthcare is one of the best out there, but the healthcare in Ireland is still great, and still affordable. Joel is learning he can actually go see a doctor without fear of debt.
Job. Joel got a new job at a company called Arista, it’s a tech company.
Scenery. Have you seen Ireland? It's beautiful. The end.
English. While we have been learning French, there are just some things in life that are difficult enough without the added language barrier. We decided it's time to try an English speaking country for a while and see how that goes.
Time for something new. By the time we move, it will almost have been 4 years we've been in France. We moved for adventure, which we have had (albeit less than we wanted thanks to covid), and will continue to have. But we felt it was time for a new adventure.
